Question by T G S: How can I stop junk food cravings?
I’m trying to eat healthy.
But it’s so hard sometimes. I’m craivng a donner kebab so badly right now. Only problem is I know if I get one to trigger me and I will start eating junk the whole day.
So unfortunately it is all or nothing for me. How can I stop or atleast divert these food cravings?

dont think about junk food
Give your answer to this question below!

wean yourself off. you have to take it little by litle. i find cold turkey never works. at least for me
The best thing to do is start slow. Have a designated day where you can “cheat” and eat a little junk food.
well try not to think about it first of all
also exercise will always inspire you to eat healthy and help with cravings.
It might also help to get rid of all the junkfood in your house.
good luck
You have to train yourself not to eat it. Every time you crave it eat something else. Mentally tell yourself “NO”. It’s hard, but it goes away fast.
keep urself busy and u won’t think about ut
Try chewing gum, that helps me.
watch your sodium and sugar intake. it’ll make you crave more, of which there is plenty in junk food. once you go for a few days or so without any at all, your cravings will stop.
the more sweet drinks and snacks you eat the more you will crave it,
try cutting out soda, and most juices drink lots of water and no more sweet snacks,
if you are craving something sweet really bad make a smoothie or eat a thing of yogurt or even non fat ice cream or frozen yogurts
The best way to stop cravings is to substitute the unhealthy foods with healthy foods that taste just as good.
When you are craving something sweet, try fruit instead.
When you crave something salty, try almonds or roasted sunflower seeds or even beef jerky.
Good luck!
What I have learn is don’t ignore your cravings but enjoy them in small portions. Keep in mind don’t over enjoy them. Have you donner kebab three days out of the week but space them out. For example I love ice cream especially Rocky Road so if I have a scoop on Monday than I won’t have another until Wednesday.
You need to start eating healthy and eventually the cravings will go away. At first they will still be there but you just have to push through it. Juicing is a great way to get all of your veg and fruit servings in and it really helps fight those junkie food cravings. Check out the link bellow. I have this book and love it. It tells you what to juice when you are craving certain foods to get rid of those cravings. Juicing is so good for you and it taste great too once you get the hang of it! Good Luck!
I think that is problem all of us on a diet experience, I know that I do.
I am a Weight Watchers member and part of the plan focuses on “filling foods” which are foods that help to keep you full longer and sustain you throughout the day.
Some examples of filling foods include:
1. Lean Proteins
2. Fruits
3. Vegetables
4. Low-Fat / No-Fat Daily Products
5. Whole Grains
Try to eat more foods from these groups and hopefully if you are full longer, it will reduce cravings.
However, I have learned that even if I am full, I still deal with cravings. What I then try to do is engage in activities that will take my mind off of food. Some things that I like to do include watching TV, computer, listening to music, going for a walk, reading, and most importantly exercise!
Try doing some of these activities or other things you enjoy and it should help to take your mind off of it.
